ABU DHABI // Future projects at Al Falah City have been discussed with the residents at a forum organised by Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

The aim of the forum was to boost communication with the community, identify their needs and listen to their suggestions about improving the municipal system.

Residents made several suggestions that focused on the improvement of infrastructure of the city. They also called for more attention to be given to the maintenance of houses and expressed a need for a health centre, and more frequent police patrols.

The future plan for the area includes widening roads, adding a roundabout and erecting signals and two junctions. Work on the project will start this August and end in July next year.

There are also plans to build a residents’ council, a marriage hall and a petrol station.

Eisa Al Mazroui, acting executive director of infrastructure and municipal assets sector, executive directors of the municipalities, representatives of strategic partners, employees of the municipality and city residents were present at the forum.

Mr Al Mazroui said: “The municipality is seeking to make these forums a platform for sharing concepts, suggestions. Identifying the needs of citizens and responding to their queries, sharing plans, and drawing up the future maps to meet their ambitions and needs of services and facilities at world-class standards.

“The municipality pins much confidence in the views and ideas expressed by citizens and their role in supporting and correcting the path of the municipal plans, besides launching new initiatives originating from these joint forums on which future road maps will be built.

“The municipality firmly believes that concerted efforts and the engagement of residents in these forums is the proper way to realise the vision of our Government, meet the needs of residents and contribute to the improvement of services and infrastructure as well as public and recreational facilities and the requisites of decent living,” Mr Al Mazroui said.
