Friday sermon: No death, sickness, sadness or fear in heaven

ABU DHABI // Paradise awaits for those who work hard, fear Allah and perform good deeds in their life, worshippers will be told on Thursday.

The sermon will describe to them how wonderful their lives will be when they reach heaven.

“Allah has created humans and jinn to worship Him and obey His orders.

“And those who do so achieve His pleasure and enter a paradise as wide as the skies and the earth,” the sermon declares.

When people enter heaven, they will be greeted by angels. A verse in the Quran says: “And those who keep their duty to their Lord are driven unto the Garden in troops till, when they reach it, and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Peace be unto you! Ye are good, so enter ye (the Garden of delight), to dwell therein.”

And once they are inside, a caller announces that no death, sickness, sadness or fear exists in there.

Another Quranic verse says: “And it is cried unto them: This is the Garden. Ye inherit it for what ye used to do.”

The descriptions of paradise’s delights are endless and it is difficult for the human mind to envisage the extent of its beauty and magnificence, the sermon will say.

As Allah says: “As for such, theirs will be Gardens of Eden, wherein rivers flow beneath them; therein they will be given armlets of gold and will wear green robes of finest silk and gold embroidery, reclining upon throne therein. Blest the reward, and fair the resting place.”
