DUBAI // Four men and a woman were arrested at a hotel apartment while singing and dancing under the influence of drugs, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
Saudi nationals J A, 22, A A, 23, S K, 25, R J, 22, and Moroccan woman H H, 30, were all charged with consuming hashish on November 14 last year at a hotel room in Bur Dubai.
The men were charged with possessing hashish, while A A alone was charged with possessing tramadol and consuming alcohol without a licence.
Police were tipped off about the men possessing drugs and a police team raided the hotel room where the men resided.
“We opened the door to the apartment and found all four men with a woman singing and dancing. A fifth man was found in a room inside but it turned out he was not connected to the others’ drug activity,” testified Emirati police lieutenant K J.
He added that officers found the defendants’ cigarettes mixed with hashish.
“J A, A A, and S K told us that R J had brought the hash from KSA and gave them some,” added the policeman.
They denied all the charges.
