ABU DHABI // Civil Defence and Emergency teams at Abu Dhabi Police have held a drill on responding to a fire on the first storey of a building.
The drill included the Department of Information Technology, the Licensing, Drivers and Vehicle Rental Department and aimed to test their readiness in dealing with accidents and reduce response times down to four minutes.
The drill’s scenario featured two individuals suffering from various injuries. One of them was evacuated by the emergency team at the Licensing Department and the other by Civil Defence. They were given first aid and medical care by paramedics, while firefighting crews put out the fire after taking preventive measures and evacuating the building in a record time, before the arrival of Civil Defence to the scene.
