DUBAI // A small fire erupted early this afternoon at a 28-storey tower in Dubai Media City.
No injuries have been reported at Al Thuraya Tower. Civil Defence went to the scene. Several office workers were evacuated and were waiting to return to work.
Thick smoke could be seen rising from the roof of the building.
Witnesses said the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen at Al Merkaaz restaurant on the ground floor of the building at around 12.30pm, and that the air-conditioning system carried the smoke to the top of the building.
