A fire broke out at a staff accommodation block in Dubai's Al Quoz area on Wednesday.

Witnesses described seeing two large plumes of smoke coming from a building in the Quoz 4 area, just south of downtown Dubai.

Fire crews were on the scene and appeared to have the blaze under control.

Reports said the building houses employees of the Roda hotel group.

The fire is believed to have started at around 5am and no injuries were reported.
