A fire broke out at Global Village in Dubai on Saturday evening. The park's management said the fire began in one of the participating pavilion's facades but was extinguished within minutes by first response teams. No injuries were reported. "Global Village’s management and the concerned authorities are investigating the cause of fire," a statement by the park on Twitter read. "The park is secure for guests to continue to enjoy the various activities and entertainment shows today until 12am." Social media users posted their concern online after spotting smoke coming from the area. "Anyone know what’s going on at Global Village? My friend saw a huge blaze from the highway and now I can hear fire trucks and ambulances.... Really hoping no one got hurt …" said Samer Hamadeh on Twitter. "Something has happened at Global Village. Fire and smoke," said another Twitter user, Aisha. It is the second fire at the festival park, with one having broken out in front of a pavilion in December 2017.
