ABU DHABI // Etihad Airways cabin crew have worn pink and distributed pins and information leaflets to raise awareness about breast cancer.
The Etihad Airways Medical Centre coordinated the initiatives at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 3, state news agency Wam reported on Sunday.
The centre has also arranged a mobile mammography unit for breast-cancer screening of its employees and their wives aged 40 or older. Female employees of all ages can have free consultations as a breast-cancer awareness drop-in clinic at the centre.
The airline also supported community events including Pink Plunge Abu Dhabi, a bungee-jumping event organised by Breast Cancer Arabia at Emirates Palace, as well as Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club’s annual Pink Polo event and Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s Pink Lady Golf Day.
October is breast-cancer awareness month.
