ABU DHABI // A Dh25 million water network project in northern Ras Al Khaimah has been announced.

The Federal Electricity and Water Authority said that work on the project is expected to start early this year and is aimed at increasing distribution capacity and installing new, high-quality pipes.

The project is spread over a 40-kilometre area between Shaam and Al Ghalila, and comprises high-density polyethylene pipes. It is expected to be completed in early 2019.

It is expected to increase water efficiency, prevent leakage and supply water to new developments.

A Dh20 million project is also in the works to increase pumping capacity at Al Ghalila Plant, from three million gallons to five million. It is expected to be completed next year.
