UAE weather: Dust storms to affect visibility across much of the country

Drivers have been warned to take extra care on the roads due to dust storms which will affect most of the country.

Forecasters at the National Centre of Meteorology warned visibility would be reduced to less than 1.5km at times between 6am and noon on Sunday.

The yellow alert, which urges people to be on the lookout for hazardous weather, is in force for everywhere but a slim strip of land along the coast, the northern tip of the country and the east in Fujairah.

It should clear to leave a hot and partly cloudy day, with temperatures reaching 46°C inland and 43°C on the coast and islands.

Humidity could climb to 75 per cent on the coast and 70 per cent inland.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
