UAE weather: Cooler temperatures return to much of the Emirates

The recent spell of warm weather had residents worried about an early onset of summer - but the mercury is on its way back down

Summer in the UAE has brought with it high levels of humidity

A return to cooler winter weather is on the cards for much of the UAE as temperatures dip back to seasonal averages of 23°C on Monday.

The recent spell of warm weather has seen the mercury rise to 34°C in some areas.

It will be partly cloudy in general and hazy at times, particularly in the northern emirates and east coast where daytime temperatures are forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology to fall to 21°C.

It will be slightly warmer in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but cloud cover will persist for much of the day with freshening winds reaching 20 km per hour bringing blowing dust and reducing visibility in exposed areas.

Temperatures are expected to continue falling into Tuesday with overnight and early morning fog likely to return in places.

The relative humidity is likely to increase overnight and early morning over some coastal and internal areas. The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
