The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology will, in the coming months, supervise the national network of air monitoring, which will include about 60 stations spread over different parts of the country, which will provide a unified reading for air quality.
The readings that will be provided by the network will be instrumental for taking the necessary measures to protect the environment, and for evaluating the results of the actions taken, as well as to ensure that the public is properly informed about the state of air quality.
Abdullah Al Hammadi, head of the climate section at the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology revealed that the centre is in the final stage of linking the existing station readings that are currently supervised by local bodies in different parts of the country.
