A fire swept through two furniture warehouses in the Mina Zayed area on Saturday.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority sent a team to the site, across from Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society, when they received a report about the blaze at 4pm.

No injuries were reported.

Emergency response teams extinguished the fire, which sent black smoke billowing across the Corniche, and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring areas and shops.

Cooling operations were carried out before investigations began to discover the cause of the fire and assess the damage, Abu Dhabi Police said.

The fire did not disrupt port operations.
