Firefighters rescued guests trapped in a Dubai hotel after a blaze broke out on Thursday. Crews from Port Saeed Fire Station were called to the Al Khaleej Palace in Al Rigga shortly before midday after a fire was reported in a storage unit on the third floor of the building. The hotel was evacuated and no injuries were reported. “The fire was reported at 11.55am and our crews from the Port Saeed station were sent at once as first respondents and arrived at 12.02pm,” Dubai Civil Defence said. “The fire broke out in a storage unit on the third floor where our crews managed to take some guests who were trapped to safety and carry out evacuations.” Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control just after 1.30pm and began a cooling process of the building an hour later.
