Enoc to install solar panels

A solar photovoltaic panel pilot project which aims to reduce carbon emissions will soon start at the Emirates National Oil Company’s Dubai Media City filling station on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The initiative will save more than 50 per cent in energy consumption at individual service stations.

The project was initiated by Enoc Retail, the retail business of Enoc, in an effort to use solar energy to power the daytime electrical.

PV panels will be installed on the station’s roof and are expected to generate about 100 to 120KW of power during the daytime, which will be around 50 to 60 per cent of the station’s total consumption.

The project is already 25 per cent completed and is expected to be commissioned on site by July.
