Emiratisation and national identity will take centre stage at the Dubai Executive Council's priorities in 2013, said Dubai's Deputy Ruler on Monday.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, made the announcement at the Council's meeting, according to state news agency, Wam.
He said the initiative was in line with the recently-announced directives of the UAE's Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that 2013 be the year dedicated to boosting Emiratisation.
Sheikh Maktoum gave directives to increase the number of national employees in sectors where Emiratisation is not fulfilling the required numbers, said Wam.
The meeting also included discussions on Dubai's economic and social development plan, as well as its developments in the health, safety, security, justice, infrastructure, environment and government sectors.
