Emiratis arrested for drag racing in Western Region



ABU DHABI // Police in the Western Region Police arrested two young Emiratis for drag racing and reckless driving.

Col Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, chief of Western Region Police, said traffic patrols saw the two motorists performing stunts.

Their vehicles were impounded because their behaviour was a breach of traffic laws, said Col Al Khaili. Both youngsters were referred to the relevant authorities.

Traffic and security patrols have been stepped up in the Western Region to ensure motorists comply with the rules of the road.

Abu Dhabi Police have also used social media to inform motorists of the importance of driving safely. Anyone caught breaking traffic laws will be subjected to the toughest sanctions.​
