AJMAN // A six-year-old Emirati boy was run over while he was waiting outside his school for his mother to pick him up.
Grade 1 pupil Mansoor Hussain Al Jassmi suffered fractures to his right hand, left leg and chest, said his father, Hussain Ibrahim Al Jassmi, of the accident on Wednesday.
“My child goes and leaves by car not bus – either I or his mother drop and pick him up from the school. And because it is the period of exams and the students leave early, he went outside the school to wait for his mother,” said Mr Al Jassmi, 37. “The accident happened before 11.30am. But how was he allowed out? Where was the school security?
“[But] the most important thing for me right now is my son and his health.”
The private school in Ajman refused to comment.
