ABU DHABI // The Emirates Red Crescent has opened two schools in Pakistan.
The initiative is as part of Year of Giving and is aimed at improving education in areas that have been affected by recent natural disasters.
One secondary school for girls in Miani Bandi, Muzaffarabad, consists of 12 rooms as well as administrative offices, laboratories and health facilities.
The school was equipped with furniture, computers and other teaching aids, and will accommodate 300 students.
Another primary school was opened in the village of Bay Bala in Mansehra province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The village was hit by several natural disasters that affected all vital sectors, especially schools, leaving parents to send their children to outlying areas to continue their education.
