DUBAI // At least 20 passengers on board an Emirates flight heading to the south Indian state of Kerala were injured this morning when the plane reportedly dropped after hitting a downdraft. Indian newspapers were reporting that the plane dropped 15,000 feet, but Emirates claimed in a statement that the drop was just 200 feet. The incident happened at about 7am just before the aircraft began its descent over the Goa-Kerala region, according to Indian media reports. "EK530 from Dubai to Kochi encountered a short period of heavy turbulence prior to descent into India. There were 350 passengers on board the flight, 20 of whom suffered minor injuries," said Majid al Mualla, Emirates' senior vice president, commercial operations West Asia and Indian Ocean in a statement. More details are expected to be released soon. Reports in Indian newspapers and newswire services said the plane had plummeted after entering a downdraft, but this has not been confirmed by Emirates. The injured passengers received treatment as soon as the plane landed, said Mr al Mualla. "The flight landed safely in Kochi and the captain requested medical support to meet the aircraft. UN Panel of Experts found regime secretly sold a fifth of the country's gold reserves.
The panel’s 2017 report followed a trail to West Africa where large sums of cash and gold were hidden by Abdullah Al Senussi, Qaddafi’s former intelligence chief, in 2011.
Cases filled with cash that was said to amount to $560m in 100 dollar notes, that was kept by a group of Libyans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
A second stash was said to have been held in Accra, Ghana, inside boxes at the local offices of an international human rights organisation based in France.
