DUBAI // A 30-year-old accountant denied trespassing into a woman’s bedroom and molesting her as she slept.
The Dubai Criminal Court heard that Egyptian MG consumed alcohol on May 22 this year and then entered the bedroom of Tunisian SA, 29, and attempted to take off her underwear.
The victim testified that one of her flatmates, a female Egyptian, had invited MG to their home.
SA said that at nearly 7am she woke up to the defendant trying to lower her underwear.
“I found him sitting next to my bed, I was frightened and threw an ashtray,” said SA.
Records show that her flatmates came to SA’s room after hearing her screams, but when she asked them to call police they refused.
“I called police who came and arrested the man,” said SA.
During prosecution interrogations, MG confessed to consuming alcohol before going to the apartment.
The next hearing will be on September 2.
