ABU DHABI // Two public schools in the Western Region are undergoing Dh17.5 million in renovations and are expected to open for the start of the new academic year.

The Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) announced on Saturday that work at Khonoor and Al Huweiteen schools is nearly completed.

“The leadership is keen on delivering facilities and institutions that will provide high-quality, advanced educational programmes, to create and establish a knowledge community through a nurturing educational environment that will be appropriate for future generations,” said Saeed AlMehairbi, buildings director and acting education director at Musanada.

Under the project, new air-conditioning systems were installed, shades were erected in playground spaces to allow for physical exercise among female pupils while maintaining complete privacy, and the floor of the corridors leading to classrooms was replaced.
