A family theme park being built in Zabeel Park in Dubai will be open by March, officials said yesterday. The Dh280 million (US$76m) Stargate Theme Park would be constructed in the form of a spaceship that crashed into the park and would cover an area of 260,000 square feet. Hussain Nasser Lootah, the acting director general of Dubai Municipality, said the "edutainment" theme park was the biggest of its kind in the Middle East.
The municipality said the theme park was built for children aged four to 14 and its concept revolved around two animated characters, Ajeeb and Ghareeb, who captain a spaceship called Stargate.
