A children's magazine that promotes reading over electronic devices is being launched.
It is part of the A Message From A Child campaign, which aims to raise awareness of digital addiction among youngsters and the psychological and physical damage this can do.
The magazine, Children's Mall, will be handed out at schools and malls.
"We cannot live without electronics, so we will try to find a balance between kids' talents and the involvement of electronics in their lives," said Ismaeel Abu Kaheel, manager at Shumokh Publishing, which produces the magazine.
There are several child-focused organisations in the country but it is traditional in Arab culture for families to keep issues to themselves.
"This could be one of the reasons that make a child in the Arab world not speak up about their problems and voice any problems they have," Mr Kaheel said.
"Parents need to accept and be more open towards having a conversation with their child and change the prospect of looking at a child as a child only".
"Education, lifestyle and development have become richer than ever."
The campaign will include workshops for parents and children and is being sponsored by various Government agencies.
Shumokh said the goal was to encourage children to read and think independently, and spend time away from electronic devices.
