Abu Dhabi school recycling awareness programme launched

ABU DHABI // A school awareness programme has been launched by Tadweer and Abu Dhabi Education Council to inform students about proper waste management.

“Less Waste – More Beautiful Emirate” targets students and teachers at the emirate’s public and private schools, with the aim of making people aware of the most effective ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

As part of the programme, a plan has been given to all schools involved, to be integrated into daily lessons.

Children will be taught proper waste handling and practical ways of reusing waste in art classes, among other things.

A panel of judges from the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, Adec and Abu Dhabi Municipality has been formed to evaluate the awareness activities held in schools, with an appraisal set in December.
