DUBAI // The d3 Design District, a one million square meter creative complex inspired by New York’s Meatpacking District and London’s Shoreditch, will be created by renowned architecture firm Foster & Partners.
The design of the complex features “flexible offices” shared work facilities, external display and pedestrian areas and gardens. This new creative space will be a thriving cultural centre that inspires designers and budding artists and attracts visitors to the region, reported WAM, the state news agency.
d3, which will open its doors to the public in 2017, will be a hub for local designers, budding artists, art galleries and studios.
Earlier this year, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, expressed her approval of the plans for d3, which is being built close to the Burj Khalifa.
