A police officer has died after being hit by a car while attending the scene of a traffic accident on Mohammed bin Zayed road in Dubai on Monday.
The officer, identified as sergeant AMA, was hit from the back by a car driven by an Arab woman as he was attempting to get out of the passenger side of his police vehicle.
He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
The deputy chief of Dubai police, Major General Khamis Matar Al Mazeina, said the officer died in hospital.
The woman driver is being held in custody at Bur Dubai police station while investigations into the incident continue.
