Dubai Metro announces New Year schedule

Dubai Metro will extend its service over New Year to allow revellers more time, the Roads and Transport Authority announced on Wednesday.

Red Line trains between Rashidiya and DMCC stations will run from 5am on December 27 to 3.30am the following day. Similar timings will be kept for the Green Line, which runs through Deira and Dubai Creek.

Both the Red and Green Lines will operate for 24 hours on December 31 and January 1, though the Red Line will only run from DMCC to Rashidiya during this period.

On January 2, the Red Line will operate from 5am until 3.30am the following day, again from Rashidiya to DMCC, while the Green Line will begin at 5.30am and run until 3.30am.

Travellers leaving from Dubai International Airport have been advised to arrive three to four hours ahead of their scheduled flight in anticipation of heavy traffic.
