Dubai Municipality is considering a project to monitor the effects of earthquakes on tall towers by installing devices in some buildings to provide it with instant information.
Mohammed Mushroom, director of the survey department at the municipality, said the step was part of the emirate’s efforts to guarantee the safety of residents and buildings.
He said that the idea of the project was to calculate how buildings are affected, according to their varying heights and designs.
