Dubai businesswoman honoured at Stevie Awards in New York

A Dubai businesswoman has won the bronze medal at the 10th annual Stevie Women in Business Awards in New York.

Sahar Al Zarei, the assistant secretary general of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (Hipa), was presented with the award last Friday at a ceremony held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

The award is designed to honour and recognise the achievements and positive contributions of organisations and businesswomen worldwide.

Ms Al Zarei was the only woman representing the Emirate of Dubai at the ceremony, which included finalists from several countries.

“I am delighted to have achieved this accolade on behalf of all the hard-working women in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab world, who are the unsung heroes of past and present generations,” Ms Al Zarei said.

“The Hipa team is also full of hard working and vibrant women whose contributions are priceless to the award as well as society in Dubai and the UAE.

“The faith entrusted to us by our astute leadership in Dubai has empowered women in business and authority inspiring them to excel on the international stage.”

The award is open on a global basis to organisations and individuals and is judged by more than 250 professionals around the world.
