Drunk man charged for molesting girl in staircase

SHARJAH // A 28-year-old Pakistani man abused and molested a three-year-old girl while drunk.

The attack is said to have occurred in Al Muweilah and the man will be tried at Sharjah’s Primary Sharia Court.

The child’s father, a 27-year-old Pakistani, said the man tried to sexually abuse his daughter in the staircase of a building, but she was able to slip away.

The father said his daughter came running and told him what the accused had done. The father approached the man but was beaten up by him, leading to injuries in various parts of his body.

The man also bit the father on his left arm and was mumbling incoherently due to the alcohol, reported Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic-language sister newspaper. [e-mail]
