DUBAI // A 25-year-old driver has lost his appeal against a three-month jail sentence for molesting an air hostess.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted the Pakistani despite him pleading denying the offence. The sentence was upheld by the Appeal Courts.
The incident happened on January 18 at the Chinese victim’s apartment in Al Qusais.
“I bought some furniture and was provided with the contact number of a driver who can carry the items to my place,” said the woman, whose age was not in records.
She said after the driver delivered the furniture at nearly 8pm she thanked him by shaking his hand. “But to my surprise he hugged me tightly and then touched my breast, I stopped him and asked him to leave at which point he apologised and left,” said the woman.
She told her building’s security guard to stop the driver from leaving until she contacted police. The man will be deported after completing his sentence.
