Thirty-one abandoned vehicles have been seized in Ras Al Khaimah as part of a police crackdown.
RAK police launched a drive to remove dumped cars from the streets of the emirates last Monday - ordering motorists to move vehicles before they are impounded.
Warning stickers were placed on another four cars, giving motorists 10 days to remove them before they are seized.
Major Salem Bourguiba, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department and campaign leader, said that the initiative has so far covered one area in RAK - and will be spread out throughout the emirate.
Most abandoned vehicles can be found around residential areas, main roads and in front of repair shops, police said.
The force said abandoned cars are a blight on the image of the emirate and can also be used as a 'hideout" for criminals.

Seren Gough-Walters (Sharjah Wanderers mini, Wales rugby league international)
Few players anywhere will have taken a more circuitous route to playing rugby on Sky Sports. Gough-Walters was born in Al Wasl Hospital in Dubai, raised in Sharjah, did not take up rugby seriously till she was 15, has a master’s in global governance and ethics, and once worked as an immigration officer at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi. In the summer of 2021 she played for Wales against England in rugby league, in a match that was broadcast live on TV.
