DUBAI // The public is being encouraged to get into the spirit of giving this Ramadan by donating everyday essentials to underprivileged families in the emirate.
The “Help Us Fill the Bag” campaign, launched by Right Bite, a company that makes and delivers healthy food, aims to encourage its customers to give what they can during the holy month.
The initiative is being run with the support of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC).
Customers are asked to return the cooler bag used for home deliveries filled with such items as shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, children’s shirts, travel bags and pyjamas, among others.
“We sincerely thank the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children for allowing us to partner with them and do these small acts of kindness, especially during a very significant occasion such as Ramadan,” said Nathalie Haddad, Right Bite Nutrition and Catering Services founder and managing director.
“Our clients’ Right Bite bag will allow them to reach out to others by generously sharing things that would be of great help to those in need.”
Customers who wish to take part can leave the bag outside of their home where it will be picked up by a driver. The bags will be donated to DFWAC at the end of the month. It is hoped about 200 will be collected.
“What better time to give generously and touch individuals who need a little help than during Ramadan?” said Shams AlMuhairy, DFWAC funding manager. “We thank Right Bite for taking on this initiative, and we hope that it will inspire others to do the same. We believe that with their efforts, the women and children we look after will have a Ramadan that they will never forget.”
