SHARJAH // Work on a Dh13.5 million mosque in Maleha neighbhourhood is finally complete.
The mosque was built on the orders of Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, the emirate’s Ruler, said engineer Mohammed bin Yaaruf, the director of the mosques section at the department of public works.
“All the work on the mosque is now complete. It is fitted with all the modern requirements of a place of prayer,” said Mr bin Yaaruf.
“It will be handed over to Awqaf and the Islamic Affairs department, which operates mosques, in the coming days and opened up for use.”
Mr bin Yaaruf said the mosque – the biggest in the Maleha area and located close to the Sharjah-Kalba Road – can accommodate 1,500 men and 250 women at prayer times.
The is also parking space for 180 cars.
"The mosque will make it easier for residents to have their daily prayers in congregation," said Mr bin Yaaruf.
