ABU DHABI // The Central Administration of Medical Laboratories at the Health Ministry has set examination dates for doctors and medical lab technicians in February and March, according to the state news agency, WAM. It was not announced who would be eligible to take the exams, or whether the announcement affected new professionals, newly arrived doctors or those already practising in the country.
The head of the laboratories, Dr Najat Rashid, said applications by holders of a diploma and bachelor's degree begin on Feb 3 and end on Feb 8. Written exams will be held on Feb 22 and oral exams on Feb 25 and 26. Applications for holders of master's or doctorate degrees will be accepted from March 2 to March 5. Screenings will take place on March 10. Offspring of UAE residents are exempt from the process, and the Ministry of Health said they would be evaluated using lower standards, but did not provide details of what standard would be required of them to practice.
