DUBAI // A male prostitute who advertised his services on the internet was caught by police after charging an undercover officer double his usual rate, a court heard today.
EA, 30, a Filipino, posted his picture and contact number on the social networking website Hourboy advertising his services for a Dh400 fee, but when an undercover member of Dubai Police's Electronic Crimes department arranged to meet him at The Address hotel on November 25 last year he requested Dh800, heard the Criminal Court.
The undercover officer's colleagues then burst in and arrested him. Under interrogation he confessed to having sex with his compatriot ED, a waiter, and massaging him in return for Dh500. Prosecutors also found a number of pornographic images of men on his mobile phone.
Both men were charged with having consensual sex, while EA was also charged with prostitution and promoting sin. He admitted the charges, while the waiter was not present in court to enter a plea.
The next hearing was scheduled for February 24.
