Pair claimed to be CID officers before raping boy, court told

ABU DHABI // Two men claiming to be CID officers sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy after taking him to a deserted area, a court heard yesterday. SF and JF, both Emiratis in their 20s, appeared before the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance yesterday charged with rape and posing as CID officers. They have pleaded not guilty. The victim, A K, also an Emirati, told prosecutors he was standing in front of his home with his cousin at 2.30am when a car stopped. Two men said they were CID officers, asked A K why he was out late and told him to produce his ID card. "I told them I did not have an ID and my cousin said the same," AK said. "They asked us to come with them to the police station."

The two men drove the teenager and his cousin "four to five" miles to a spot by the sea. SF told the victim's cousin to step out of the car, the court heard. JF asked AK: "Do you want to go to the police station or home?" When AK told him he wanted to go home, JF asked to have sex with him, the teenager said. "I told him no and he said, 'You cannot say no to us, we are authorised to beat you up,' and then pushed me to the back seat."

The teenager said JF then assaulted him. Afterwards, he drove AK and his cousin back to the house. The judge adjourned the case until Sunday.
