DUBAI // Three men who kidnapped an absconding maid and forced her to prostitute herself at their brothel in Naif have been sentenced to three years in prison.
The Criminal Court found TE, 27, from Pakistan, and his Bangladeshi accomplices TA, and MR, both 27, guilty of charges including human trafficking, kidnapping and running a brothel and ordered all three to be deported following their prison terms.
One of them met the maid, from Sri Lanka, at a bus station and promised her a well-paid job after learning she had absconded from her sponsor and was in need of a job.
He took her to an apartment in Naif where she met the other two men and two women working as prostitutes, who told her they were paid Dh15 each time they had sex with a customer.
She refused to prostitute herself, but was beaten.
The three men were arrested during a police raid on the brothel on June 20 this year.
