A man in Dubai threatened to kill himself and burn down the office of a company over unpaid wages, Dubai Criminal Court has heard. The Bangladeshi manager of a construction company, 27, went to his office in Al Rafaa on September 9 with a bottle of petrol, the judges were told. He stormed into the accountant’s office and threatened to set himself on fire and burn the place down because of unpaid salary. Dubai Police were alerted and the man was taken into custody. “We saw him with the fuel bottle at the accountant’s office. I spoke with him to calm him down,” said a police officer, 42. “He told me he wanted his money because they hadn’t paid him.” The man was charged with threatening his colleagues. He admitted to the charges and the next hearing is on November 24.
