DUBAI // A maid threatened to decapitate her colleague if she told their employer about her affair with the delivery man, a court heard.
Prosecutors said NJ, a 32-year-old Indonesian maid at a villa in Al Rashidiya area, had been in a relationship with 25-year-old Indian delivery man AS.
She began inviting AS to her room after everyone - including her colleague and roommate SS, 40 - had gone to sleep. But on December 6 last year, SS was woken by the couple at nearly 3am.
"I took a look and saw them having sex but I felt so shy and covered my head pretending to be sleeping," SS told investigators.
When NJ and her lover noticed that SS was awake, NJ jumped up and screamed: "I will cut off your head if you tell of what you have seen".
SS remained silent out of fear but two days later NJ invited AS to her room again. The next morning, SS informed her sponsor's wife who called police.
Both defendants confessed and were sentenced to a year each on the sex charge and an additional six months for trespassing.
They will be deported after completing their jail terms.
