Dubai supermarket employee jailed for filming women in the toilet

DUBAI // A supermarket employee who hid his mobile phone in a box of detergent and used it to film women as they used the toilet has been sentenced to three months in prison.

The phone was discovered by a fellow employee who heard it ringing as she was using the toilet. She informed her supervisor, who checked the mobile and found clips featuring women as they used the toilet. The supervisor discovered the phone belonged to the employee MM, 25, from India.

The supermarket's accountant said that the employee sent a text message to two of the women who appeared in the video clips.

Prosecutors said that the man confessed to having filmed six women, saying he used the clips to pleasure himself.

During his trial at the Criminal Court he denied hiding the camera.

He will be deported after completing his jail term.
