DUBAI // A mother who registered her illegitimate baby in the name of two married colleagues has been sentenced to two years in prison.
CC, a 27-year-old Filipina human resources employee, told the colleagues that she needed their passports so that they could be checked by the Free Zone Authority.
She copied the passports and used them to get a birth notification document for her baby girl from the Bal Houl hospital. She then took the notification document and copies of the passports to the Ministry of Health to obtain a birth certificate.
The mother was arrested in March 2012 on an unrelated matter and police discovered that her child was registered under the couple's name.
She confessed to having sex with a compatriot identified as MP, who has not been arrested.
She was found guilty of both consensual sex outside of wedlock and forging official documents.
She will be deported after completing her jail term.
