DUBAI // Indian nationals in the Northern Emirates requiring consular assistance can approach officers during Open House sessions on Fridays.
The sessions can be attended by those with grievances about consular services, the Consulate General of India Dubai said on Tuesday.
“Aapke Dwar” services will held on Friday for Indian nationals residing in Fujairah, Dhaid, Kalba, Dibba, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.
The consulate currently has an Open House system over three hours daily at its office in Dubai. During this time, anyone can meet consular officers without an appointment to address their concerns.
The new service has been introduced since it was realised that Indians residing in other emirates were unable to use the Dubai service.
As per the schedule, Aapke Dwar Open House sessions will be held on March 6 in Fujairah from 9.30am until 11.30am at the Indian Social Club, in Dhaid between 2pm and 5pm at the Dhaid Malayali Association, in Umm Al Quwain from 2pm until 5pm at the Indian Association and in Ras Al Khaimah from 9.30 to 11.30 at the Indian Relief Committee.
The sessions will be held on March 20 in Kalba from 9.30 to 11.30am at the Indian Social and Cultural Club and on March 27 from 9.30 to 11.30am in Dibba at the Kairali Cultural Association.
Any issues should be put in writing and be presented along with a passport copy and other relevant documents.
Dates may be subject to change and Indians have been asked to check the consulate website for latest announcements.
The initiative was being introduced on a trial basis for a month and would be extended if it received a favourable response.
