Mult-tasking my way through the week

I pushed myself this week to finding new ways to open closed doors.

A man I needed to interview refused my request, so I was forced to think outside the box. If he does not want to be interviewed, I thought, why not go and convince him?

That is how I started my week.

Last Sunday, I went to his office and showed up without an appointment. I told him I really needed the opportunity that his interview would provide me. Luckily, he agreed to think about it.

The next thing I knew, he was willing to see me on Wednesday. The interview went well and I was happy that my visit to his office was not a waste of time.

At the same time, I was working on collecting multiple facts for another story. Again, waiting is the a difficult situation for a journalist. I had to wait for almost everyone to get back to me. I am used to it by now, but I can say that I have learnt a lot throughout these weeks on how to really dig for the information you need, and sometimes it requires a lot of patience.

I am struggling with being pregnant and working lately. It is getting tougher and being mobile is a little bit hard. I might stick to phone interviews for a while. I do not want to end up biting off more than I can chew.
