Jiu-jitsu is about timing, reflexes, the study of the person opposite you and the anticipation of their next move. Photography benefits from mastering the same disciplines. While covering the Abu Dhabi National Schools Championship recently, staff photographer Silvia Razgova found a position and timed this frame perfectly to have light burst between the competitors, and while the photo is framed wide, the light serves to draw the viewer’s eye to the heart of the action.
