New Year’s Eve revellers can look forward to clear skies at the Burj Khalifa, The Palm and Abu Dhabi Corniche amid fireworks to ring in 2015.
Although foggy weather has hampered morning commutes, causing flight delays and cancellations this week, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology has forecast mostly clear skies over Abu Dhabi and Dubai today.
Temperatures will be about 20°C at midnight and are expected to reach a high of 27°C during the day, with relative humidity rising to 65 per cent at the start of the new year.
Agreeable weather also awaits revellers off the coast. Rough seas during the day will give way to calmer boating conditions at night.
But the weather bureau has warned motorists that hazy conditions are forecast to return after 1am tomorrow.
Spectators of the New Year’s Eve fireworks in the northern parts of the UAE will have to deal with significantly more cloud cover during the late evening and morning hours.
For those looking to enjoy daytime activities on New Year’s Day, mild and temperate conditions are forecast, with morning haze giving way to clear skies and mild temperatures peaking at about 25°C.
