ABU DHABI // Church leaders have praised the UAE’s efforts under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa to promote religious enlightenment and Islamic moderation, reports Wam.
The praise from church leaders came during an iftar held on Sunday at The Saint Anthony Coptic Orthodox Cathedral Church in the capital.
A number of senior officials attended including counsellor Ali Al Hashimi, Religious and Judicial Adviser at the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Obaid Al Mazrouei, Executive Director for Islamic Affairs, and Ihab Imam Hamouda, Ambassador of Egypt.
Reverend Anthony Michael and the Reverend Bishoy Fakhri, pastors of the church, expressed their greetings on behalf of Archbishop Dr Anba Abraham, Coptic Orthodox Metropolitan Archbishop of Jerusalem and the Near East to the UAE’s leadership, its government and people.
