The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) will offer free meals to outdoor workers, bottled water in mosques and donations to the underprivileged this year. The department committed to the charitable projects as part of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition last week.
About 4,000 meals will be provided daily in Dubai from mid-April to December. In all, 700,000 workers are expected to benefit. Additionally, 150 mosques in the emirate will receive about 7 million bottles of water.
The third project is an agreement with Etisalat, in which IACAD will assign numbers for SMS donation to Zakat and other charity services.
