Burj Khalifa and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s tower were lit up with the colours of the Indian national flag on Wednesday in celebration of the country’s 68th Republic Day.

The display embodied the deep friendship and co-operation between the people of the two countries, reported state news agency Wam.

This year’s celebrations are of special attention as they coincide with the official visit of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to New Delhi to participate as the chief guest of India’s Republic Day celebrations.

Sheikh Mohammed is leading a high-profile delegation, including ministers, senior officials and entrepreneurs.
